I love love love love guacamole. It’s easy to make, healthy, and you can eat it with… well almost anything. If it wasn’t so darn hard to find ready to eat avocados, I would be eating it every. single. day! I would have it on my bread for lunch, or with my favorite double cali-taco (have you tried them at La Monita? The best!).

But I think I love it most as my go-to companion to a snack. I always find it hard to find a healthy snack, but the other day I picked up an avocado and it made my snack so much better. So much so that I felt I had to share my favorite combis with you!

  1. With veggies
This might not be the most conventional way of eating guacamole, but it sure is a lot healthier! And you know what, it has a great crunch to it too! I love dipping cucumber, carrot and bell pepper. But you can literally use any type of veggie as your dipping stick!
  2. With Pita
To be honest, I love my pita to be dipped in hummus. But dipping it in guacamole comes very close!
  3. With vegetable chips
This is probably my all-time healthy combination. Vegetable chips are just delicious, taste almost like normal chips, and definitely bring the right crunch! Just make sure to check out the sodium count on them, as they can be quite high…

Now I won’t keep you waiting for my super easy guacamole recipe, which only takes 5 minutes to make! All I can say is let’s eat guac!

Instructions
  1. Run a knife from top to bottom around the avocado, and twist the two halves off of each other. To take out the pit I usually hit my knife in the middle of the pit so I can lift it out easily.
  2. With a small spoon, remove the flesh and place it in a medium-sized bowl.
  3. With a fork, mash the avocados.
  4. Cut the lime in half and squeeze one half into the bowl. (To prevent the seeds from going in the bowl, use a sieve to collect them.)
  5. Add the garlic, cherry tomatoes and onion to the bowl.
  6. With a fork, stir all ingredients together.
  7. Add a pinch of salt and some pepper to your liking, and stir one more time.
Recipe Notes

The best thing for everyone is to eat your guacamole immediately - the flavor and color will be so much more appetizing in this way. But if you need to prepare a big party batch for later in the day, make sure to wrap it with plastic wrap directly against the dip. Prevent any air from getting in between so it won’t go brown.
