You’re all probably well aware, but Joëlle is a professional when it comes to Aromatherapy. She studied French Aromatherapy and Aromachology – also known as Olfactive Therapy – at the Faculté Libre de Médecines Naturelles et d’Ethnomédecine (FLMNE) in Paris. Here she made connections with aromas and experienced their benefits on the physical and psycho-emotional level. This in combination of becoming a mom – I mean who isn’t looking for great relieves for symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, runny noses, stomach aches, fatigues and fevers? – makes Joëlle the perfect person to talk about the use of Essential Oils, for all the family members, including during pregnancy and with babies.
Let’s hear all about it!
If you’re like me then you probably know that essential oils can be beneficial for you, always complementing the advice of your healthcare professional. Besides that I, for instance, know that lavender helps you to relax, peppermint is good for digestion and sandalwood helps to calm your nerves. But that’s about it… There are so many more uses for different essential oils. Even if I know for what purposes these essential oils are good for, I still have no idea on how I can use them in a way that makes them most beneficial for me… And that is where Joëlle comes in, with informative sessions and workshops.
Last Monday Joëlle held a talk at The Best Beginning, in which she introduced the topic of essential oils and motherhood. She talked about the theory behind essential oils, such as what is aromatherapy, and what are essential oils. But also some main guidelines on how to use essential oils safely during these special times in a woman’s life. Basically, it was a crash course on aromatherapy to make everyone get ready for Friday’s workshop. Because you didn’t think that would be the only thing Joëlle would do, right?
You can do it yourself too!
Let’s get our hands dirty – oh sorry, I meant smelling nice in this case! That’s right Joëlle will also teach how to make your own product! During the Friday workshop (held on 7 June), Joëlle is holding a hands-on workshop at The Best Beginning. Here you can learn how to use essential oils that have anti-viral properties, and therefore can be used to support you and your baby’s immune system. There are still some spots available, so make sure to sign up over at The Best Beginning Facebook page.
So did you join Joëlle’s talk? What did you learn? And what other things would you love to hear from her on this topic? Let us know so we can tell you all about it!
